The recent suspension of the erstwhile Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria has ignited a debate on Social Media and as has become typical with many pundits, the discourse has been dominated by sentiments rather than facts.

As Sanusi has indicated that he will be challenging his suspension in court, I will not make this piece about him and recent events surrounding him. Yes, I will cite some examples of double standards as regards the approach taken by some analysts, but in my view, the matter is now best left to the courts.

What I will say however to those who are propagating the propaganda that the President suspended Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to stop him from speaking is this: it was Sanusi’s job that was suspended, not his mouth and anyone who knows him knows full well that he will not let anything come between him and a microphone.

Opposition politicians and fifth columnists have continued to pay the price for underestimating President Goodluck Jonathan’s leadership abilities. They confuse analysis for paralysis.

A Federal High Court in Lagos today has barred the agents of the Nigerian police and State Security Services from arresting the suspended governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. The motion exparte was granted by Justice Ibrahim Buba, after Sanusi’s lawyers filed an affidavit of urgency. See more evidence after the cut.

Sound Sultan has been invited to England to have dinner with her majesty Queen Elizabeth II with other UN youth ambassadors. The singer instagramed a shot of an official invitation from the House of Lords, which is the upper house of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, inviting him for a date with the Queen.

“I was called to London to dine with the Queen,” he wrote on his Instagram page.

According to the invitation, Sultan and other ambassadors are to feast with the Queen to celebrate Nigeria and Her Centennial Anniversary to promote good governance. See the invitation after the cut.

The Nigerian Police have been accused of killing a staff of Ecobank, Mr Babatunde Oke who was picked up by the police after his employers accused him of fraud. Babatunde died today in a Police custody after he was allegedly tortured by them. His friends have been sending different BB broadcasts insisting we all pass it round till it gets to the Inspector General of Police. Babatunde left behind a wife, a 2-year old child and five months old baby.  Continue after the cut.

Hesey Design’s creative director, Eseoghene Odiete has made it to the top 10 finalists list of the Africa Connected competition by Google. Eseoghene who started Hesey Designs in July 2012 is a graduate of Covenant University.

She started Hesey Designs, a women’s accessories label, right out of the university. She used Google Search and YouTube to learn how to create handbags and via Search found contacts for blogs and magazines to feature her products. Her bags, which she now sells through her business website, have been featured in over 100 blogs, 10 magazines and even on African Magic’ Star Gist. Helping others create a source of income, Eseoghene also conducts training classes for other women who want to learn her trade and build a similar business for themselves. She was also a source of inspiration to other young people when she was invited to speak at Ibukun Awosika’s Ignite TV in July 2013.

Sylvia Oluchy, a fast rising actress in an interview with BestofNollywood, was asked if there’s a limit to what she can do on set and if she could go nude for a movie role and here is what the actress said;

Justice Lateefat Okunnu of the Ikeja High Court, on Friday, convicted Akolade Arowolo who murdered his wife, Titilayo, at their Isolo residence in 2011.

In sentencing Mr. Arowolo to death, the judge said that the prosecution proved their case beyond reasonable doubt and established that the defendant was responsible for his wife’s death.

Mrs. Okunnu said that she reached her verdict by relying on the evidences of the pathologist who conducted a post-mortem examination on the deceased’s corpse, the parents of the convict who were “not witnesses of truth”, and the contradictory statements of the convict.

It started about two months ago. There was this contact on my BB who updated her status based on what was happening with my man. One day she updated 'my boo is back, so happy'. My boyfriend had just returned from a trip to Europe. I didn't think much of it until she updated her status again saying she was in Port Harcourt. My boyfriend had left for Port Harcourt two days earlier. Then on January 22nd, she wished her boo a happy birthday. January 22nd is my boyfriend's birthday. Then on Val's day, she updated her status wishing her man a happy val's day and said she wished he was in town so she could spoil him. He was in South Africa with me. We returned on the 17th of February and when I checked her status, she'd updated with 'my boo is back' with love emoticon. I knew then that we were dating the same man.

27 year old Taiwo Omolara Shittu (pictured above), a 500l student of the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, University of Ibadan, was attacked and killed on the 19th of February at her sister's home at Opeyemi street, Gbagi in Ibadan.

Her sister, who she lived with, returned home from work around 5:30pm on Wednesday to find Taiwo in the pool of her own blood, her pants down to her ankle, and a machete stained with blood on the bed. Taiwo had been attacked with the machete as there was an opening on her head.

A dead baby girl was found this evening around 5.25pm by UNILAG canal close to the main gate of the school in Akoka, Lagos. Two suspected killers of Prince Noel Tochukwu Unegbu, the US-based CEO of Imo Got Talent, who was shot dead in his room at Rapour Hotel in Owerri on February 4th, have been arrested by the Imo State police command.

A couple’s desperation for a baby led them into a programme of bogus herbal treatments that convinced them she was pregnant and had given birth - until DNA tests proved it was a lie. The British couple, who have not been named, returned from the specialist hospital in Nigeria to bring up their 'daughter' in Britain when they were arrested, and the little girl seized.

They had gone to a doctor in Lagos, Nigeria, to spend more than £4,500 on 'herbs' in a last ditch attempt to conceive after a decade of trying. Miraculously, the substances they ate seemed to mimic the effects of pregnancy. Even a London GP believed the symptoms, issuing a maternity leave certificate.

Nine months later, Dr Cletus Okolo staged a charade labour, during which the mother was drugged. At the end, she was handed what she believed to be her daughter.

But when they arrived back home, with little documentation, social workers were suspicious and eventually arrested the couple, taking the little girl into care.

According to reports and tweets from David Ekpo, a staff of Ecobank, Babatunde Oke was allegedly killed in police custody yesterday. Tunde (pictured above), who worked at the Ladipo Oluwole, Ogba branch of the bank, had been accused of fraud and handed over to the police.

When I published my piece about the death of desire in marriage/relationships (“See Finish Syndrome”) I didn't expect the kind of feedback I got on that matter, hummm see gobe!

It was clear to me that the marriage institution in Nigeria is in a big problem. Ninety percent of the overwhelming phone calls and emails were from angry, lonely, disgruntled and confused wives. It was then it hit me that millions of homes and marriage relationships are going through a very bad patch, wives are growing very disenchanted with their husbands and their relationship. Before I did the piece (see finish) apart from experiencing it personally, I have heard and seen so much sadness in too many homes that made me swear and ever determined not to allow my marriage be caught by the "See Finish" bug.

From the mails and the phone calls I received, it was clear to me that many wives whilst still in their relationship, DON PORT. They have emotionally moved on engaging in hot sizzling extra-marital affair. The number is alarming, their reasons are as enlightening as it is revealing and I must add, I learnt quite a lot from all the sad stories I heard and read. Thank God for the opportunity, I will always share with my readers some of my personal experiences, trusting that in coming clean I will also learn from the mistake of others. Long story short, it is for me therapeutic.
