A US General on Thursday May 15th, said the Nigerian military is becoming afraid of engaging Boko Haram insurgents and this might affect the US level of involvement in finding the missing girls

Testifying on Thursday before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the US Air Force Chief of staff, Gen. Mark Welsh III, said, “We’re now looking at a military force that is, quite frankly, becoming afraid to even engage. The United States doesn’t have the capacity, the capability to go rescue every kidnapped person around the world.”
 The New York Times reported that the US might choose to minimize its involvement in the search for the over 200 schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram due to doubts over Nigeria’s military capabilities. Continue...
Saturday PUNCH learnt that the US had questioned the ability of the Nigerian military to rescue the girls even with international help.
The Pentagon’s Principal Director for African Affairs, Alice Friend, also said, “The Nigerian military has the same challenges with corruption that every other institution in Nigeria does. Much of the funding that goes to the Nigerian military is skimmed off the top, if you will.”


An unidentified young man in Ilobu community, in the Irepodun LGA of Osun State, was found head deep in a grave in the early hours of Wednesday May 14th, after allegedly attempting to cut off the head of a corpse, buried in Tonto compound in the area, Saturday Tribune reports
The suspect’s accomplices fled in terror after seeing half his body get stuck mysteriously in the grave. His death has generated concern among the terrified residents of the Ilobu community.
It was gathered that the victim and his partners in crime allegedly came to Tonto compound in the early hours of Wednesday with a plot to exhume the corpse of an aged woman and sever her decomposed head, allegedly for ritual purposes. Continue...

Ian and Barbara Pollard became famous after they shed their clothes and transformed their 16th century homeand gardens into a sprawling public paradise of wild flowers.Their “Garden of Eden” mansion attracted nudists from around the world.

But the couple have now put up their stunning Wiltshire home of 20 years for sale after Mrs Pollard, 62, began divorce proceedings following an apparent argument.
Speaking from Abbey House Gardens in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, Mr Pollard, 68, said: ‘
The long and short of it is that Eve is leaving the Garden of Eden.Quite simply my wife is divorcing me, which has resulted in the putting of the house and the gardens on the market. It is a real shame and I am very sad and angry about it. I’m a very hurt individual.’

Genevieve explained that she was born and raised Catholic and she doesn't believe in divorce.
"If I get married, I really want to stay married and staying married is not an easy thing. It means you are completely in tune with your partner. President Goodluck Jonathan will this evening host a Media Chat to be broadcast live on radio and TV stations across the country.
The president is expected to respond to questions on a number of topical national issues from journalists selected by his handlers.
Mr. Jonathan’s spokesperson, Reuben Abati, said in a statement that the Presidential Media Chat would begin at 7:00 p.m.
The presidency has in the past promised to entertain questions by telephone calls, sms, and via social media.
This time, the presidency has said interested members of the public could send in their question via twitter to the account @mediachatng1.
In case you are able to reach the president on the programme, we suggest you put the questions below to him, in addition to others you might have.
We also urge the journalists, who will interview the president, to consider asking him some of the questions suggested below.
